Virtual Field Trips at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

In January of 2014 we launched an exciting new program at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston that can provide schools with alternative, innovative ways to bring the Museum into your classrooms. Our Distance Learning program enables teachers to connect their students with the encyclopedic collection of the MFA, and enhance their curriculum through the integration of art.

In the Distance Learning Program, an MFA educator virtually connects with the classroom via a web-based platform, accessible worldwide. Teachers only need a web-camera, computer speakers, and an internet connection to connect. The program offers multiple discussion topics that are centered on 45-minute interactive, student-centered conversations featuring works of art from the MFA's Art of the Ancient World, Art of Europe, and Art of the Americas collections, among others. All program content is designed to align with the Common Core State Standards.
